Draycott were one of just five entries for the large village category and we’re pleased to announce that we were awarded a GOLD again!
This is the RHS’ highest accolade.

Well done to all the ‘Dibbers’ and volunteers who had to contend with such extreme climatic conditions. Congratulations on all the planting, painting, weeding, watering and cleaning that’s made Draycott look so well loved and a wonderful place to live, work or pass through.
2022 theme
Having a theme for the year has always been important to DiB. Sometimes it’s a celebration of something relating to the village’s history, but in 2022, DiB decided to focus on colours suitable to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Rather than the National colours of red white and blue, for 2022, everyone who lives or works here in Draycott was asked to concentrate on the Regal colours of purple, red and gold, all set off on a background of green.
The overwintering Bloomers turned their hands to crafting. Remember a few years ago when the focus was on canal art positioned around the village, well for 2022, we have Jubilee themed artworks as well as bunting in our theme colours.
The Best Street in Draycott
New for 2022 was the ‘Best Street’ competition. Of course, everything needed to look perfect for in Bloom judging, but we know from previous years how great the village can look throughout the year when people put in that little bit of extra effort.

Open to absolutely everyone, whether you know a plant by its Latin name or more likely, know it’s the one with a red flower. DiB is a great way to meet new people, get outside for a bit of fresh air and exercise, be part of something special that keeps the village looking so great, and of course, get involved with all the social aspects.
